They are a non-profit ministry dedicated to helping mothers struggling with addiction issues. They accept donations in clothing, household goods, office goods, furniture, toys, baby items, books, pictures, jewelry and accessories. All the proceeds from Freedom House Thrift are used to support the operation of their program.

Goodwill operates 15 retail stores to serve Alamance, Caswell, Guilford, Randolph and Rockingham Counties. They accept donated goods, resell those items in their stores, and use the revenue to provide job training in their community resource centers. Nearly 90¢ of every dollar earned in Goodwill stores supports job training in the Piedmont Triad.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) ministries in the United States provide an in-residence rehabilitation program with a focus on basic necessities. Each program participant is provided with a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, spiritual direction and the resources needed to develop life skills and a personal relationship with God as provided by Jesus Christ.
